Diplo is launching a house music label

Walker & Royce will be the first artists to appear

Diplo is launching a brand new house music label, Higher Ground.

Taking its name from his recent deep house-infused EP, 'Higher Ground', the new imprint will showcase both established and new artists, alongside work from the producer-boss, who also recently unveiled a new country music project. Tech, melodic, lo-fi and Afro will all be represented, to name but a few sub-genres.

Walker & Royce's 'Rave Grave' will be the first release to see the light of day, a double-single from the Brooklyn-based duo which lands on 4th September. The likes of Djeff, Sidepiece, Born Dirty and recent DJ Mag HQ guests Andhim are also slated to appear on the platform in the coming months.

"House is where it all came from. Everything we know and love as dance music today started with the masters in Chicago and Detroit almost 40 years ago," said Diplo. "The genre has always been incredibly important to me, and Higher Ground is our homage to the legends and opportunity to champion new sounds and artists from around the world pushing the genre forward."

The crew will take over Brooklyn Mirage on 22nd September for an evening of house beats in association with Mad Decent, Diplo's other label. You can pre-order 'Rave Grave' from Beatport now.
