DJ Perplex shot dead in Mexico, suspect arrested

The attack in San Luis Potosi also left another victim dead and four more people injured...

A suspect has been arrested following the fatal shooting of Israel's DJ Perplex in Mexico during the early hours of Saturday 29th June.

Multiple gunmen opened fire inside a crowded club in the city of San Luis Potosi leaving two dead, including the 45-year-old psytrance artist, real name Ronen Dahan. Four more people were injured.

Reports in Mexican media have confirmed that one suspect with a previous murder conviction has now been arrested— identified only as Victor N. It is not believed that DJ Perplex was the intended target, with cartel violence a cause of the attack.

Two years ago a gunman opened fire on a venue during BPM Festival in Mexico's Playa Del Carmen, leaving 12 dead and leading to outrage across the dance music community.
