DJ Snake visits Bangladesh to raise awareness for the Rohingya refugee crisis
And he needs our help...
Whilst most EDM DJs and producers are portrayed as aloof egotists, French star DJ Snake has decided to use his considerable audience to raise awareness for the plight of Rohingya refugees who've been forced to flee from their homes at the hand of the Myanmar government.
During the last few weeks, the French star has been raising awareness of the crisis via his social media channels and this week visited one of the refugee camps in Bangladesh, where he's been interviewing some of the displaced children to find out about their experiences, in what many independent observers are calling ethnic cleansing.
The French EDM don today sent a message to his 1.2 million Twitter fans asking them to donate to Love Army For Rohingya campaign, via its GoFundMe page, to raise money for vital aid for the displaced refugees, who've largely fled to Bangladesh.
So far the campaign, which is using the producer's considerable reach, has raised an incredible $1.25 million of its $1.5 million target in just 24 hours.
