DJ W!LD announces new album ‘Techno City’, hear ‘King Hit’: Exclusive

The Dijon-born Circoloco resident’s full-length lands 3rd April via his W imprint....

DJ W!LD has exclusively revealed to DJ Mag that he will release his next full -length album, titled ‘Techno City’, via his own W imprint on Monday 3rd April.

We’ve got the exclusive play of the release’s lead single. ‘King Hit’, below.

‘Techno City’ is the Dijon-born Circoloco resident’s first album in just over two years, and is a noticeably darker and more stripped back offering than the disco-fuelled production of 'When You Feel Me'.

Speaking about ‘Techno City’, DJ W!LD told DJ Mag, “The album was inspired by a long winter spent playing dark and murky club rooms around the world.

“This album came about because I wanted to show a darker and more tech-orientated side of me. I wanted the tracks to give off this impression, and be evocative of the time I spent in these places and the type of music I was playing.

“I also wanted the album to give a feeling of movement, of a rising energy that builds exponentially from the outset to the finish, moving in the way that a mix or a DJ set does.

“As always, a combination of sampling and classic hardware use was my main creative output. The album in its entirety is a blend of classical music, acid, New York beats, Detroit techno and of course, a wild touch.”

On ‘King Hit’, DJ W!LD – real name Guillaume Duchastel De Montrouge – presents a club track built around an orchestra of snare rolls, emotive pads and rising energy topped with a vocal sample.

Listen to the exclusive play of DJ W!LD’s ‘King Hit’ below, taken from his forthcoming album, ‘Techno City’, out Monday 3rd April via W.
