Dominator, the young jump-up d&b star, has died

Dominator, the young producer who'd made waves in the jump-up d&b scene over the past few years, has died.

Real name Neil Aldred, the Beccles-based DJ/producer was recently diagnosed with cancer, which tragically took his life before he could receive treatment.

Rising rapidly in the d&b scene after Radio 1 support from Grooverider back in 2011, Aldred solidified his place as a top tier name with productions for Biological Beats, Low Down Deep Recordings and more, before launching his own D-Stortion Records label last year.

He quickly gained support from the likes of Logan D and Nicky Blackmarket, and earned himself sets at d&b institutions such as Innovation, Breakin Science and this year's upcoming Let It Roll festival.

DJs and producers from across the scene have been paying their respects via Twitter this morning (Thursday 8th June). Read some of their tributes below.
