Dress like Prince with the '1999'-inspired clothing collection

It’s been designed by The Purple One’s trusted design duo Call & Response

Prince fans can now dress up as The Purple One thanks to a new capsule collection created by Toronto design duo Call & Response.

Designers Cathy Robinson and Lori Marcuz have created a capsule collection to mark the recent reissue of Prince’s iconic album ‘1999’.

Included in the collection are black and purple trench coats, leather vests, a stretch leather jacket, a word of warning leather bomber jacket and a tie-dye long-sleeve T-shirt.

Speaking about the collaboration, Cathy Robinson says: “For us, this is a true collaboration. We have infused what we understood of Prince through the eyes of 1999.

“We are not trying to make costume, but wearable clothing with a nod between the Prince we knew and the one that came before.”

Prices start at $175 (for the T-shirt) while the purple trench coat costs $2,600.

The collection coincides with the release of '1999: Remastered And Expanded Edition'. Three versions are available - the remastered original album in CD and vinyl format, another with an additional two CDs and four LPs of bonus material and the largest with five CDs, ten LPs and one DVD.
