DUKE DUMONT RETURNS WITH A NEW SINGLE ON DEFECTED

Producer returns to his ‘For Club Play Only’ series...

Duke Dumont’s ability to craft chart-friendly pop bangers has seen Adam George Dyment chalk up two UK number one singles with ‘Need U 100%’ and ‘I Got U’ in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

But before he was a chart-topping DJ and producer, Dyment released no nonsense club weapons on labels including Tiga’s Turbo Recordings and Switch’s Dubsided.

For his next release, the producer has joined forces with Defected Records for two cuts of contrasting house, that sees the in-demand producer back on a 'For Club Play Only’ tip.

As Duke himself explains: “'For Club Play Only' is my catalogue of music purely aimed at the club... No radio ambitions, no platinum disc motivations, the aim purely to make music to DJ.

"The goal is to leave a legacy of dance music that'll stand the test of time, in the same light that many of the artists I hold in high regard have done in the past,” he adds.

‘Be Here’ is your archetypal Defected record; big, soulful and full of melody — just the sort of track Defected has built its name around.

On the b-side you’ve got ‘Worship’, it takes itself a little less seriously, as rubbery synths ricochet off luminous leads for a track that a bit more progressive in nature and doesn’t feature any vocals — a rarity for a Dumont production.

All-in-all a fine return to form from the Duke. Both tracks are out 1st August via Defected Records.
