EDC announces Asian expansion for 2018
Far East here we come...
EDC— or Electric Daisy Carnival to veterans— is set for an Asian expansion in 2018, according to the man at the very top.
Pasquale Rotella, CEO of Insomniac, the company behind the brand, has hinted at huge plans for the world's most populous continent, reflecting the strength of electronic music in the Far East.
The biggest being EDC China, exact dates and location currently unknown, and a second instalment of the Japanese edition which debuted in Tokyo last April. The news hit just days after we reported on major changes coming to EDC Las Vegas.
The crew have opened a new warehouse venue in Los Angeles, too, named the Academy, with the first crowds welcomed on 12th January for a set from Krewella, who narrowly missed a spot in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll 2017. It's not clear yet whether EDC will return to New York after last year's cancellation.
