Eric Prydz: "I make the music that is missing from my record box"

Zane Lowe interviews the mighty Eric Prydz for Beats 1

Eric Prydz is one of dance music's most in demand artists, with one of the scene's most mindblowing live shows, and on Wednesday 9th October the Swedish DJ and producer spent an hour chatting to Zane Lowe for Beats 1.

Prydz, who also releases music under the aliases Cirez D and Pryda, has a long-standing relationship with Beats 1, having been hosting his Epic Radio show since 2016.

In the hour-long interview, Prydz and Zane Lowe discuss what he's been working on, his hectic touring and busy release schedule, and testing new material by gauging the reaction of the crowd.

"I have so much new music I am bursting to share", Prydz says to Lowe in the opening moments of their conversation, before going onto explain how he feels his creative process may differ from a number of other producers, as he makes music specifically to play out at shows. "I make the music that's missing from my record box", he says.
