Everything But The Girl share teaser for first new music in 24 years

Everything But The Girl have shared a short video trailing their first new music in 24 years.

The 44-second clip, set inside a café, features spoken word poetry over some atmospheric backing sounds. At the end of the short video, writing appears on screen, simply reading "coming soon". You can watch it below.

The duo, consisting of Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn, shared the video on social media, with the caption, "Get ready for the kiss". Alongside that message, they added hashtags confirming that both a "new single" and a "new album" were on the horizon.

There isn't yet a release date available for either the single or album, but the duo did confirm that fans could expect the new album sometime in the spring when they first revealed last November that they'd finished work on a new full-length project.

Formed in in 1982, Everything But The Girl had top 10 UK chart success with their hit song 'Missing' in 1995, which was remixed into a cult dance classic by Todd Terry. The duo were also nominated for MTV, EMA and Ivor Novello Awards, and released their last studio album to date, 'Temperamental', in 1999.
