Ex-Red Hot Chilli Peppers' guitarist John Frusciante drops acid techno LP

Techno with a twist...

Ex-Red Hot Chilli Peppers' guitarist John Frusciante has announced that he will release another album of live improvised acid techno.

The album, dubbed 'Trickfinger II', will be released on LA-based imprint Acid Test and will see Frusciante adopt his Trickfinger moniker once again.

Some of the tracks date back to 2007 and were never meant to be released — but instead were simply part of his own musical development.

Speaking about the project's origins, Frusciante told Electronic Beats in an interview from 2015 that he "fell into making what I thought of as another form of progressive rock but instead of combining classical, rock, and jazz I was combining jungle, synthpop and what you might call IDM.”

You can hear clips to the entire 6-track album below, which is set to drop 8th September.
