A figure skating team has performed to a medley of Daft Punk tracks at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

On 6th February, the USA's Madison Chock and Evan Bates performed to segments of tracks from the legendary French duo's 2013 album 'Random Access Memories'.

Among the songs to feature in the pair's dance - which took place as part of the ice dancing free dance team event - included 'Within' and album closer 'Contact'. Chock and Bates picked up a silver medal for their efforts. You can watch the performance below.

Back in 2019, it was revealed that 'Random Access Memories' was the best-selling dance music album on vinyl of the decade. Paying tribute to late 1970s and early 1980s American music, the 2013 release won several categories at the 56th Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronica Album.

In February last year, Daft Punk, made up of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, called it a day after 28 years. Revisit how the pair's second studio album 'Discovery' laid the foundation for EDM

Last month, Daft Punk's debut album 'Homework' turned 25. Read Gabriel Szatan's feature on Chicago roots of the album's sound here, alongside an exclusive mix celebrating the duo's Teachers.
