Fischerspooner’s Casey Spooner calls out Madonna for not crediting him on ‘Madame X’ track

"Madonna has fucked me over," he's said via Instagram

Casey Spooner of Fischerspooner has taken to Instagram to accuse Madonna of not correctly crediting him for his work on a track from her latest album, 'Madame X'.

Spooner says that he worked alongside French producer Mirwais, who had a part in producing the full album, on the track 'God Control' in December 2017. At the time, he believed that his work editing a melody was for Mirwais' solo album, which was later scrapped. Upon hearing ‘God Control’ earlier this year he says he then learnt for the first time that the work he did had been included in the track.

Writing on Instagram, he says that Madonna and Mirwais "have fucked [him] over". He continues: "I co-wrote GOD CONTROL and I’ve gotten no credit and no compensation. I’ve been dealing with this for 5 months and I’m over it. I have played nice and been very patient but time is up!"

He describes the terms of compensation that have been offered to him by Madonna's lawyers as "shitty," explaining that he's "getting a 25K advance against publishing royalties which after legal fees and taxes will be 10K?!?!"

He concludes: "1% of touring profits will cover my contribution and damages. I mean, it is the opening number in the show. And while you’re galavanting around on stage....I’m completely broke in Berlin. Robbed, ignored and delayed."

I HAVE HAD ENOUGH @madonna and @mirwais.official have fucked me over. I co-wrote GOD CONTROL and I’ve gotten no credit and no compensation. I’ve been dealing with this for 5 months and I’m over it. I have played nice and been very patient but time is up! And honestly the terms are shitty. I’m getting a 25K advance against publishing royalties which after legal fees and taxes will be 10K?!?! It’s been an endless nightmare of lawyers and waiting and more emails.....and for what?! 10K? I should be getting paid a percentage of the live show. There is no money in record sales. Period. Not even for Madonna. I’ve seen the numbers. @madonna I’ve changed my mind. I think 1% of touring profits will cover my contribution and damages. I mean, it is the opening number in the show. And while you’re galavanting around on stage....I’m completely broke in Berlin. Robbed, ignored and delayed.
