Floating Points shares new album track, ‘Anasickmodular’: Listen

Part of the track came from an improvisational set that the producer played at Dekmantel in 2017

Floating Points has shared a new track called 'Anasickmodular'.

It's the third song to be unveiled from Sam Shepherd's forthcoming album, 'Crush', following on from 'LesAlpx' and 'Last Bloom'

"'Anasickmodular' was a working title that stuck," Shepherd says of the new track. "The main pad audio and vocals are from a live improvisation at Dekmantel festival in 2017."

He continues: "At some point on the tour we were in Sydney and Anna (who is half of the Hamill Industries team responsible for the live laser/bubble oscilloscope projections) was ill so, on an off day, I started a new project bringing the modular out of its box, hence the title. The second half of the track was recorded live in situ and is a lot of fun to play live!"

'Crush', which is due out on October 18th, is Shepherd's first studio album in four years, and was made during an intensive five-week period inspired by live sets that he played solo with his Buchla synthesiser, supporting The xx in 2017.

As well as appearing on the cover of DJ Mag's October edition, Floating Points will DJ at our party at Amsterdam club Claire during ADE on Octber 17th. You can hear 'Anasickmodular' below.
