Gesaffelstein has shared his first new music in over five years. ‘Reset’, along with its video featuring a Tekashi 6ix9ine look-alike, dropped today and, frankly, it slaps.
The French techno arriviste – real name Mike Lévy – teased that new music was imminent earlier in November when he shared 25-second clip of some reversed, abstract audio on Facebook.
Anticipation of new music from Gesaffelstein had been building for several weeks prior to the teaser after projections of his name were spotted on the sides of buildings the world over. It was subsequently announced that he had signed to Columbia Records.
While Lévy’s last album proper, Aleph, was released in 2013 via Skrillex’s OWSLA, it’s not as if he hasn’t been busy. In 2015, he provided the full soundtrack to French thriller, Maryland. He also produced two tracks on Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’ and has collaborated with massive stars including The Weeknd, who it was recently revealed that he was back in the studio with.
