Independent London club The Cause will shut in January 2020

The Tottenham venue opened in 2018 to raise money for Mental Health charities

London's DIY venue The Cause will close its doors in January next year.

The club, which originally had a year-long contract and was due to close in April this year, have extended their contract until the beginning of 2020 with New Years Eve serving as the closing party.

Initially opening with the aim of raising £25,000 for charity partners Mind in Haringey, C.A.L.M. and Help Musicians UK, the venue surpassed their target and have since raised over £50,000, with six months to go until its official closing date and money raised going to multiple charities beyond the charity partners.

The venue also houses Threads Radio, a London-based DIY station from the team behind 199radio, and previously Kristina Records prior to their East London relocation.

Batu, Ben Sims, Hodge, Lil' Louis, SHYBOI and Yak are all slated to perform at The Cause before the final party.
