Ishmael Ensemble and Rider Shafique release new single ‘Reasons’: Listen

Ishmael Ensemble has teamed up with Rider Shafique to release a new single ahead of their collaborative EP, 'New Era'. Listen to 'Reasons' below.

The Bristol electronic jazz collective first worked with the Gloucester MC in 2022, with 'Empty Hands (Rider Shafique Version)', featured on the rework LP 'Versions Of Light' of 2021's 'Visions Of Light'. They've now expanded upon the collaboration with the 'New Era' EP, due out on 10th February via Severn Songs. It'll feature four new tracks, including lead 'Reasons', plus an intro.

"I first came across Rider Shafique about six years ago after I heard his piece 'I-Dentity' via Bristol's Young Echo collective and was immediately struck by his powerful way with words," Ishmael Ensemble’s Pete Cunningham said. "A true master of his craft."

In 2021, Rider Shafique featured on Bell Curve's single 'Lifted', which A.Fruit later remixed.

Listen back to the 'Full Circle' single, featuring Holysseus Fly, from their 2019 debut LP, 'A State Of Flow'.
