ISTANBUL NEW YEAR MASSACRE: DANCE MUSIC WORLD REACTS
The attack at Reina nightclub left 39 people dead...
A New Year’s Eve party at Reina nightclub in Istanbul was attacked by a lone gunman in the early hours of New Year’s Day, in a massacre that left 39 people dead.
With the gunman remaining at large, the city’s governor, Vasip Sahin, quickly labelled the shooting as a “terror attack”, with ISIS later claiming responsibility for the event.
There were around 700 people welcoming in 2017 at Reina nightclub at the time of the attack, where another 69 people were injured, with a police officer amongst the confirmed dead.
In the immediate aftermath of the fatal shooting at Reina nightclub, a number of artists were quick to condemn the gunman’s actions, as well as offer condolences to friends and family of the victims. You can see a selection of the posts below.
