Scottish DJ and producer Jamie Roy has died.

News of the artist's passing was shared in a statement from his family this morning (21st) on social media. No cause of death has been shared at the time of writing.

"Jamie passed away yesterday," the statement reads. "Jamie was a much loved and talented son, brother, nephew and uncle and loved by his many friends and colleagues both within the music industry and beyond that. We are all absolutely heartbroken."

A regular on Glasgow's underground house and techno circuit in his formative years, Jamie went on to become an Ibiza fixture and favourite, performing at Pacha, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Amnesia, Ibiza Rocks and DC-10. He also performed at this year's Unum festival in Albania, Terminal V, BPM Costa Rica and Abode's UK events.

A much-loved industry figure and well respected producer, Jamie released records on labels including Ultra, Toolroom, Patrick Topping's Trick and Repopulate Mars, as well as Kaluki Music and Lost Audio.

In a post on social media this morning, DJ and producer Paul Woolford said "There is nobody like THE Jamie Roy. One in 8 billion. Lit up any room he walked into. An incredible human. Hard to believe it’s true. Say it ain’t so..."
