Joy Anonymous have officially released their much-anticipated rework of Sugababes' classic hit 'Push The Button'.
The rework, titled 'JOY (Push The Button)', was a frequent fixture of the duo's sets throughout 2023, including their support set for Fred again.. at London's Alexandra Palace. The track retains the iconic vocals of the '00s chart hit, while bringing it further towards the dancefloor with a garage spin.
Originally produced as a bootleg, it was ultimately heard by Sugababes and they liked it so much that they gave approval for it to be officially released.
In a statement, Joy Anonymous said: "Sugababes' 'Push The Button' is an iconic track so we had some fun in the studio making a bootleg version that we didn't expect to put out. But the reception and support was amazing and then to hear the girls themselves loved it was pretty cool. So we all got together and thought, no better Christmas present than giving people what they've been asking for. Merry Christmas."
Sugababes added: "We heard this bootleg of 'Push The Button' being played all summer, and the reaction was insane, so we're excited to now team up officially with Joy Anonymous to release the song as a special present to you guys to see out 2023."
