Juba announces Assurance compilation celebrating femme artists from the Global South

Berlin-based, British-Nigerian DJ Juba has announced the release of a new compilation celebrating the music of femme producers from across the Global South. ‘The Assurance Compilation’ will be released on 1st April.

Continuing the theme of Juba’s  podcast and documentary of the same name, ‘The Assurance Compilation’ aims to champion music made by women around the world, outside of Europe and North America. The ten-track release features music from Kenya, Nigeria, Iran, Taiwan, Vietnam / Cambodia, Brazil, Namibia and the Pacific Islands, with styles ranging from amapiano, vogue and Vietnamese folk to house, techno, Baile Funk and beyond.

Artists featured on the compilation include São Paulo’s Evehive, whose track ‘Bravo Cunt’ you can hear below, as well as fellow Brazilian BADSISTA. Elsewhere on the compilation there are tracks from Gina Jeanz, Sonia Calico, Maggie Tra, DJ IV and more. Check the full tracklist below.
