Kelly Lee Owens has announced the release of her new album 'LP.8'. It will be released digitally via Smalltown Supersound on 29th April, with a physical release scheduled for 10th June.

Two tracks have already been unveiled, 'Sonic 8' and 'Olga', both of which you can hear below. 'LP.8' is the Welsh artist's first full-length project since her critically acclaimed second LP, 'Inner Song', which was released in 2020 just as the Covid-19 pandemic began.

With the crisis forcing Owens to postpone a highly anticipated world tour, the artist debased to the Norwegian capital of Oslo in search of new surrounds and time in a studio undistracted. There, she met one of Scandinavia's most influential musical outsiders, Lasse Marhaug, whose CV includes works with Merzbow, Sunn O))) and Jenny Hval.

Partly inspired by ideas of Celtic mysticism, and a sonic palette broad enough to take in everything from Throbbing Gristle to Enya, the result is a record that's described as both incredibly human and industrial. Or, as Owens puts it: "For me, 8 meant completion - an album that will ripple infinitely with me personally."

In June, Owens will embark on a mammoth tour, opening with dates in Melbourne and Sydney, before heading back to Europe where she will play a host of festivals. These include Body & Soul in Dublin (19/6), Spain's Bilbao BBK (8/7), Bluedot near Manchester (22/7), London's Standon Calling (23/7), Belgian institution Pukkelpop (20/8), and Lowlands in the Netherlands (21/8).
