KOWTON TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM ‘UTILITY’
The Livity Sound producer’s first LP is due in April
Kowton has announced the release of his debut album, ‘Utility’.
The nine-track album, his first after seven years of producing music, will be released on Livity Sound. Kowton previously appeared on 2013’s ‘Livity Sound’ compilation and has released a number of singles together with Pev on the Bristol-based label.
“The name Utility came from a series of conversations I had in the build up to finishing the record,” the producer told The Quietus. “What feels most prescient to me right now is writing concise music with purpose and direction - viceral music that’s uncluttered both sonically and theoretically.”
'Utility' is out 15th April, you can listen to one its tracks, ‘Shots Fired’, below.
