LCY announces new EP, ‘0’, with single, ‘Cherubim’: Listen

LCY has announced a new EP, '0', which will arrive on Thursday 8th December via the artist's own SZNS7N label. The first single, 'Cherubim', is out now and can be heard below.

The London-based artist and creative's latest tracks form part of a wider '0' project, described as an exercise in "world building" based on ideas of conformity, protection, and safety, identities, societal binaries, and associated narratives. It's their first work since last year's dystopian-themed AI output 'Pulling Teeth', and December's single, '22:22'.

'Cherubim' itself takes the form of pared-back breaks underpinning LCY's soft vocal harmonies, and arrives towards the end of a stellar 2022 for the producer. The last 11 months have been defined by a debut Radio 1 residency with Goldie, remixes for Krust, tracks chosen for no less than two fabric mixes, and an inaugural live show for the club's English National Opera collaboration, among other things. Meanwhile, Primavera — their first live date in Europe — and Glastonbury were among the festival highlights.
