Leeds West Indian Centre to implement volume limit on soundsystem events

Rumours that the venue was to close are untrue

Soundsystem events at Leeds West Indian Centre (LWIC) will be required to lower their volume.

An agreement has been made between several soundsystems, promoters and LWIC's management that events in the centre will be required to lower their volume until further notice. A statement shared on behalf of LWIC explained that "All sound systems are still more than welcome there if the volume and size can be controlled to a respectable size and volume working with the new rules."

Following circulation of untrue rumours suggesting that LWIC was being forced to close, or that a total ban had been implemented on soundsystem events in the venue by the council, Leeds West Indian Centre has clarified that that is not the case
