Leftfield have announced a new album, 'This Is What We Do'. Listen to the first single, 'Pulse', below.

Marking the legendary UK electronic act's first studio album since 2015's 'Alternative Light Source', 'This Is What We Do' is described as an "eclectic long-player that embodies the core optimistic ethos" of Leftfield, which is now led solely by co-founding member Neil Barnes.

Taking in 11 tracks and produced with long-time studio and mix engineer Adam Wren, the LP was produced in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and Barnes' recovery from a personal health crisis, and features an album cover shot by lauded photographer Steve McCurry. According to a press release, the album's cover was chosen "to reflect the warmth and positivity of the album and to celebrate the connections that we make with others throughout our lives."

Alongside the announcement, Leftfield has shared new visuals soundtracked by first album single 'Pulse'. The album also features guest contributions from Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten, British author and broadcaster Lemn Sissay, and more.

Speaking about the first single, Barnes' said: "I wanted ‘Pulse’ to be the first statement from the new album. It felt strong. Dance floor. Human. Positive. And I love the bass. It’s Leftfield.”

'This Is What We Do' will be released via Virgin Records on the 2nd December. Watch the video for 'Pulse' below or stream it here.
