Legendary Italian techno nightclub Cocoricò has closed its doors after thirty years.
The Rimini-based club, which also temporarily closed in 2015 following the high-profile death of someone in the venue, first opened its doors in 1989 at the tail-end of the second summer of love, featuring its now-iconic pyramid roof. It was a DJ Mag favourite, appearing regularly on our Top 100 Clubs lists.
It was declared bankrupt on 4th June, owing inland revenue more than €800,000 in unpaid taxes according to a report from Huffington Post. Its bankruptcy hearing will be held 25th October.
Its problems allegedly stem from the revenue lost and debt accumulated during its 2015 closure for four months during peak season.
