Listen to Aphex Twin’s previously unreleased track, ‘So Bird Whistle (Peel Session)’

It features on the upcoming WXAXRXP Sessions compilation

In September, Warp Records announced that it would continue its 30th anniversary celebrations up to the end of this year with the release of a new box set collecting various radio sessions from key artists on the label.

The 10-LP 'WXAXRXP Sessions' takes in 10 different radio sessions from the likes of Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada, LFO, Flying Lotus and Oneohtrix Point Never, and now Warp has released a 10-track sampler set on streaming platforms ahead of the box set's release next week.

Amongst the tracks featured on the sampler is a previously unreleased recording by Aphex Twin of a track titled 'Slo Bird Whistle'. The track was originally recorded as part of Richard D. James' 1995 Peel Session which aired on BBC Radio 1, and was later made available briefly via SoundCloud as part of Aphex Twin's much-publicised SoundCloud dump.

You can hear the track below and check out Warp's full sampler for the 'WXAXRXP Sessions' box set below that. The label will release the compilation as a 10xCD box set and a 10xLP 12" vinyl box set on Friday, November 15th.

You can watch a stream of Aphex Twin's first London club show in 10 years, which took place at Printworks in September, here.

Warp Records kickstarted its 30th anniversary celebrations earlier this year with a three-day radio broadcast on NTS featuring Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards Of Canada and more.
