LISTEN BACK TO 25 YEARS OF NINJA TUNE ON THE BBC ESSENTIAL MIX

Stream the special edition mix crafted by Coldcut & Seven Davis Jr.

In a celebration of 25 years of historic UK label Ninja Tune, BBC Radio 1 has devoted an entire episode of the station's much-loved weekly mix show the Essential Mix to the imprint.

Kicking off proceedings is an hour long mix from Ninja Tune founders Coldcut — AKA Matt Black and Jonathan More — who delve into the label's vast archive for sixty minutes of wonky house, bouncy electro and groove-soaked 4/4.

Next up, Ninja Tune's latest prodigy Seven Davis Jr. takes the reigns — think quality cuts from the UK's Bonobo, Detroit's Moodymann and Seven himself.

You can stream the mix through the BBC website for the next 30 days here
