LISTEN TO A FUNKY FRESH KICKS MIX FROM DENHAM AUDIO

Sheffield trio drop techno, bass, breaks and more...

Coming straight outta Sheffield, Denham Audio traverse the UK bass landscape on the latest edition to our Fresh Kicks mix series.

Opening scoring last year with their 'Dance Cult' EP for Exploris, the trio have quickly made an impact with tastemakers such as Madam X, Addison Groove (they recently remixed his much-loved 'Footcrab') and Hodge.

DA's latest comes in the form of a collaborative three-tracker with Mani Festo (half of Swamp 81 affiliates Cousin). Built on punchy bass and snappy breaks, the 'Favela' EP came together quickly explain the crew. "It's great when you work with someone and you share the same influences and creative process," they tell DJ Mag. "It makes making music together a hell of a lot easier."

Similarly, Denham Audio's Fresh Kicks mix is a hybrid beast, offering the same blend of techno, breaks, garage and house that makes UK bass music such a vibrant place at the moment.

"For the mix, we decided we'd play tunes strictly from ourselves and our friends," say DA. "There's so many talented producers new and old that we've had the pleasure of either working with, collaborating with or even just meeting through our music, so we wanted to craft a mix together that showed some of the talented friends we have."

You can stream the mix in full below and Jakwob's Boom Ting Recordings from 30th November to grab a copy of the 'Favela' EP.
