The next release from Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ Emerald City imprint comes from Swiss producer Disco Channel — and we’ve bagged the exclusive first listen.
Originally, ‘Eyes In Eyes’ was a nu soul experiment “with almost no beats or basslines,” explains Disco Channel to DJ Mag. “The idea of turning it into a deep house track came with the desire to create the balance between a soul song and a club track that could be enjoyed at parties as well as at home.”
The release comes with a tribal-infused remix from Emerald City’s Jamie Jones — which we're premiering today — who strips away the original’s warm glow and replaces it with shuffling, off-kilter percussion lines, effects-laden vocals and fluttering bass.
Elsewhere, the release comes with a remix from Suara founder Coyu who delivers a straight up, heavy duty remix that boasts a big presence on the dancefloor.
Lee Foss then works his magic conjuring fresh key patterns, as New York’s Filsonik rounds the package off on a warped trip through subtle acid top lines and intricate layering.
Disco Channel's 'Eyes In Eyes' is out Friday 29th July via Emerald City.
