Maceo Plex suggests free party in Charlottesville as response to violence

Dancing in unity against neo-Nazis...

Maceo Plex is taking a public stand against the recent violence in Charlottesville, Virginia and President Donald Trump’s response to the actions of the white supremacists and neo-Nazis. The Cuban-American is rallying the dance community to host a free party in Charlottesville “to promote & dance for unity & equality”.

While no event has been solidified at the time of posting, Plex did amplify the message to Virginia-based promoters via Twitter on 17th August.

A number of fellow artists including Soul Clap, Nu Androids and Modeselektor have shown keen interest in participation.

The dance music community was founded on progressive, inclusive values; boisterously responding as a collective when label managers and artists speak against such unifying interests.
