MAD DECENT BEACH PARTY CANCELLED

“We have realized we are not able to host the weekend in the exact style we are accustomed”...

Mad Decent have announced that the inaugural Mad Decent Beach Party has been officially cancelled. The event was set to take place between Thursday 16th and Sunday 19th February 2017.

The news came in a statement from Mad Decent, which stated the reason for the cancellation was due to the fact “we have realized we are not able to host the weekend in the exact style we are accustomed”.

You can read the statement in full below:

“The CID Presents team and Mad Decent crew are both committed to providing fans with stellar experiences, and after thorough consideration, we have realized we are not able to host the weekend in the exact style we are accustomed. Therefore, unfortunately we have decided to cancel this event. Our sincerest apologies to each person this decision impacts.

“Fans who purchased all-inclusive packages will be refunded in full, including related airfare expenses, and will receive direct communication from CID Presents in the coming days.”

Tickets to the event were secured with a $500 deposit, with additional payments of the same amount following in September, October and November, totaling $2000. Only two payments have currently been taken from ticket holders.

In July Diplo announced the first Mad Decent Beach Party would take place in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Planned to take over the Barceló Maya Beach Resort on the country's stunning Caribbean coast, the event was set to offer four days of sun, sea, sand and, of course, the chance to hear some of the world's top dance acts.

Last year a young mother died after reportedly jumping from the deck of the Mad Decent Boat Party as it sailed off the coast of Cuba in November.
