Major Lazer host ‘Relief is the Mission’ benefit event: WATCH
The ability to donate remains open...
Major Lazer brought their singular blend of Caribbean-inspired beats, pop melodies, and hip-hop fierceness to Mana Wynwood on Monday 16th October in benefit of those affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria across Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands. The trio of Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire live streamed the event to garner additional funds for the cause.
Tory Lanez, Machel Montano and Bad Bunny lent their talents to the benefit event. 100% of the ticket sales went to groups including ComPRometidos, Global Giving, and Save the Children.
At the time of posting, donations for Save The Children are still being accepted here. In less than 24-hours, viewers of the live stream donated in excess of $2,000 ($US).
Following the tragic Las Vegas shooting, Diplo himself donated $100,000 and urged other DJs and hotel owners to do the same. Calvin Harris recently donated a booking fee to support those victims as well.
Major Lazer recenty shared the brand new video for ‘Particula’ from the ‘Know No Better’ EP. It was shot and directed by South African filmmaker Adriaan Louw. You can watch it here.
