Major Lazer share selfie-obsessed video for 'Run Up'
Featuring Nick Minaj and PARTYNEXTDOOR...
Major Lazer have unveiled the video for their latest single 'Run Up' which features both Nicki Minaj and Canadian rapper PARTYNEXTDOOR.
The video has been directed by Paul, Luc and Martin who are the creative force behind Belgian breakout artist Stromae.
The video itself looks to poke fun at the world's obsession with mobile phones and the constant need for people to document every single second of their lives by videoing it.
“The idea was to laugh at ourselves and at the unconditional love we bear to our smartphones,” say the video's directors Paul, Luc and Martin. “Humor and absurdity came naturally in our speech because our will was not to accuse someone or something but just exaggerate it to foster reflection.”
During the video, there's scantily clad partygoers dancing, drinking and making out all with their phones in hand recording their antics. And Nicki Minaj takes it one step further by FaceTiming her verses in.
