Martin Garrix responds to alleged tear gas incident at Amsterdam show

Reports of thefts amid release of tear gas follow ADE show…

Martin Garrix has released a statement following reports that tear gas was let off at one of his performances at ADE.

Fans online have been sharing reports that gas was released, a common pickpocketing tactic to give cover for thieves, as well as pepper spray being used on the audience too.

The EDM star, who won the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll 2018 for the third year in a row over the weekend, responded to the incident with a statement on Twitter, saying, “I was shocked by the incident last night and I find it incomprehensible that there are people who do this kind of thing.”

“The team is committed to ensuring the safety of all visitors. Last night was one of the most special performances I’ve ever done and I’m really looking forward to this one more time this afternoon.”

One member of the Martin Garrix forum on Reddit, said “jewelry from several people was stolen” at the show.

A famous robbery at a rave happened two years ago when Kerri Chandler’s record bag was stolen from London club Phonox.
