Massive Attack will soundtrack Banksy’s Bethlehem hotel

Elton John & Hans Zimmer will perform remotely too...

Following last year’s Dismaland art installation, Banksy’s next big project is a hotel in Bethlehem where the likes of Massive Attack will perform via a remote controlled piano.

Dubbed the Walled Off Hotel, the art installation will feature a piano bar, which will be open to the public, and features 9 guest rooms.

The hotel claims to offer the “worst view of any hotel in the world” — because of its location on the Israeli Separation Barrier, a 400-mile wall cutting through the West Bank.

The hotel’s piano bar is where it gets interesting, though, it features a remote controlled piano, where each night a different concert will be performed remotely by the likes of Massive Attack, Hans Zimmer and Elton John.

The rooms have been designed by Bristol street artist Banksy himself, Sami Musa and Dominique Petrin.

The hotel will aim to shine a light on the segregation of Palestinians and Israelis who are separated by the 400-mile wall that cuts right through the West Bank.

The whole hotel has been financed by Banksy and will be taking bookings from 11th March.

You can watch Elton John's performance below, who performed for the hotel's opening night.
