It feels like a lot has happened since Miller SoundClash took over Las Vegas for the second successive year. We caught up with the 2015 finalists to find out what they have been up to since leaving the US party capital.
CAISSA - Dominican Republic
Cassia have been working hard since leaving Las Vegas. They remixed ‘We Own The World’, by fellow SoundClash finalists Charlie & Zulu and are set to release a remix of ‘Diamond Life’ by Little Louie Vega & Jay Sinister. Outside of the studio, the duo have been working hard at their residency in Dominican Republic and have recently signed to a new DJ agency.
DJ RAMA - Argentina
Argentina’s Miller SoundClash finalist played a memorable gig alongside Nic Fanciulli & Matthias Tanzman at Luna City Express in Buenos Aires last month and is now signed to Universal Music offshoot Aftercluv Dancelab. He is also playing regularly at his residency at Isabel on Buenos Aires.
ANKLTAPP - South Africa
Ankltapp has been super busy in the studio, he has a new EP planned, which will be released on his own label Spunk Recordings. His breakfast radio show is going from strength to strength and he is also planning a Miller SoundClash reunion gig in Johannesburg. Watch this guy go!
DJ SHUSHUPE - Peru
Shushupe has been getting experimental in the studio, since he got back to Peru. “Currently I’m working on the final part of my second EP called Taricaya Beats” he tells us, “I went to the jungle to record sounds of nature and transform them into music with electronic beats and take the direction of my tropical bass style.” Aside from sampling the jungle, Shush has been rocking shows including Subte in Lima and the 20th anniversary of Mabela Martinez’s famous TV show ‘Sonidos del Mundo’.
DJ BLOCKS - Zambia
DJ Blocks’ EDM sound has seen him rock some incredible shows since arriving back from Vegas. He took on the R&G Oktoberfest and the All White Party on New Year’s Eve. This is alongside his new residency at Room 101. He’s also been working on some tracks on the studio which he hopes to get out later in the year.
AUGUSTO YEPES - Colombia
Augusto Yepes is now signed to Afterclub Dancelab and has been bringing his sound to new venues across Colombia. He has supported Robin Schulz in Bogota and has a residencies at Conquistador, La Movida, and Floyd in Colombia and a global residency at The Wild Brunch.
ERDEM SENEL - Turkey
Turkish Miller SoundClash finalist Erdem Senel has given Eurythmics an EDM rework (under his Big Brother alias) and has been playing gigs around Turkey - most notably at Masquerade Club in Istanbul, where he holds a residency.
DJ CAISE - Nigeria
It has been an incredible five months for Caise. Since flying home from Las Vegas he has been announced as Miller Brand Ambassador in Nigeria and joined them on a six state tour of his homeland. He was also invited to play at the afterparty for Idris Elba’s ‘Beasts Of No Nation’ Nigerian premiere and is working on completing his album, which he hopes to release on his label COSMOS Records.
LEMARROY - Mexico
Lemmaroy has wasted no time since the Miller SoundClash final. He is releasing records on Black Hole Recordings and Magic Island Records, has remixed Disclosure and has also been travelling across the Americas for gigs in Miami, Chicago, Panama and Mexico.
LOVING ARMS - Hungary
You may have heard Hungarian duo Loving Arms’ latest single ‘Set Me Free’ which has been on heavy rotation on VIVA TV in Hungary. The duo, who impressed during the Miller SoundClash final have also picked up headline dates across Hungary and the wider region, including a recent show in Czech Republic. They are currently in negotiations with some big record labels - and will be able to reveal more soon!
CHARLIE & ZULU - Paraguay
After arriving back from Las Vegas, Charlie & Zulu got to work on a bootleg of Axwell’s ‘Watch The Sunrise’, which is set to be released this month. They also played at Road to Ultra Paraguay and at Miller’s Halloween Shine in the Dark event. You can listen to a mix they put together for Portuguese Radio below.
BSNO - Mexico
“Miller SoundClash was an awesome experience in every single way” BSNO tells us when we call for a catch up, “Miller is a real family, and i hope to be part of it another year.” It has certainly been an uplifting few months for the Mexican finalist, who has seen his dreams come true, releasing a track on DJ Chuckie’s label and playing at EDC and Palladian, which is one of Mexico’s biggest clubs.
