Mun Sing, aka Giant Swan's Harry Wright, has announced a new album, 'Inflatable Gravestone', which will land on 2nd June via Planet Mu. You can listen to the first single, 'Waiting In The Car', below.

According to a press release, a key catalyst for the Bristol artist's debut LP was the death of Wright's father in 2020, who had a history of substance abuse and addiction. Exploring themes of spirituality, the higher self, coping mechanisms and grief, the album's lyrics are born from Wright's father's journals written while in rehab, describing feelings, revelations and hallucinations. A recording of his breathing while asleep also features on the closing track.

In an Instagram post announcing the album, Wright added that "I also wanted to acknowledge the importance of humour and distraction within the grieving process....cos ya know, its all about balance n everything."

Musically, a broad palette of influences has gone into the work, from Art of Noise to Kyaru Pamyu Pamyu. Dominated by "awkward, jerky and suggestive" rhythms, the club-first sounds are broken up by more reflective, downtempo tracks, such as MX World collaboration, 'The Poison Garden'.

In support of the release, a Mun Sing will perform a number of shows across the UK and Europe, including his Bristol hometown, London, Glasgow, Berlin, Manchester and Poland's Up To Date Festival. A full list of dates is below.
