A 300-capacity club has opened in London. Werkhaus, located in the Truman’s Brewery complex on Brick Lane, welcomed its first attendees on 12th September.

The address is already known as a nightlife destination, in addition to being a home for fashion and art. The venue itself will add to this, offering Funktion One sound with the focus on supporting the UK capital’s grass-roots music community while also welcoming international guests. Operating a single room, promoters can choose between two set-ups, one for live music and the other specifically catering for DJ-focused events.

Werkhaus will also present workshops and talks as part of the ongoing programme, with forthcoming parties including techno player Jeroen Search (22nd September) and Mason Collective (2nd November), who's Manchester home just saw another intimate dancefloor, Cotton, open for business, while in the south Brighton's Haunt recently announced plans to more than double its capacity
