A new Cypress Hill documentary is on the way, ‘Hits From The Bong’

The Sony Music Premium Content production is slated to premiere in 2022

A new Cypress Hill documentary is set to be released, 'Hits From The Bong', referencing one of the most memorable tracks from the rap group's best-selling 1993 album, 'Black Sunday'.

The film is part of the ongoing celebrations marking the band's 30th birthday and is expected to be premiered on Showtime in 2022. It is produced by Sony Music's Premium Content Division and Mass Appeal.

The anniversary also involves a host of re-releases and remixes, including a new expanded edition of their 1991 self-titled debut LP. This boasts a new take of 'The Phuncky Feel One!', 'Pigs' with Spanish lyrics (retitled as 'Puercos'), a reprise of 'Stoned Is The Way of the Walk', and remixes of 'How I Could Just Kill A Man' and 'Hand On the Pump' by the Alchemist, Beat Butcha and DJ Muggs.

A boxset version will feature six seven-inch singles and an 80-page booklet of liner notes and images. A separate graphic novel, announced back in February and entitled 'Cypress Hill: Tres Equis', will also be released. Earlier in 2021, the Los Angeles outfit dropped their first new music in three years by way of the single 'Champion Sound'.
