New record shop to open in Paris, Dizonord

The city of lights is getting a new place to source music...

Dizonord, a brand new record store, is opening up in the French capital.

A two-day opening party is planned for this Friday 8th February, with over 40 DJs including Zaltan, Joakim and more booked in to play, along with a b2b from Ron Morelli and Krikor.

The shop is located in the north of the capital and the space will also function as a cafe, nonprofit bar, community events centre and live venue.

Run by DDD Records founder Xavier Ehretsmann and independent dealer Vincent Privat, it will stock a range of both secondhand and new releases.

Genre-wise, the shop will have French boogie, zouk, field recordings, disco, new age, house, club 12-inches and more lining its shelves.

In London, three new record shops opened in the month of November last year.

Recently, Sports Direct tycoon Mike Ashley was in talks to buy troubled UK music retailer HMV.
