A new venue is opening in East London, Space289

The venue is the latest in a series of editions to the capital

A new venue is opening this month in East London.

Located in Cambridge Heath, the 220-capacity Space289 aims to shine a spotlight and showcase the UK's diverse music scene.

The venue have said they hope to create a space where "established promoters take musical risks and new promoters have a space to cultivate ideas and grow", and will launch with a Body Hammer party on the 16th November.

Another event is scheduled to take place in November, with Parasang and Space F!ght both performing live, alongside DJ sets from Medallion Man and Rommek, on the 22nd. There's also a show scheduled with SHYGIRL for next March.

South London's latest adition is Peckham Audio, which is a new venture from the owners of nearby venue Four Quarters, and will be situated on Rye Lane close to Bussey Building. Its owners describe it as a "220 capacity live music and club space in the heart of Peckham" and it's set to open later this month.

A 300-capacity club called Werkhaus also opened in East London's Brick Lane earlier this year.
