Nicky Romero has explained in a new Facebook post that he has been suffering from anxiety for two and a half years.
After being asked by fans why he’d been quiet on the production front, Nicky decided to answer their question with honesty and explained that, though he’d been touring too, the main reason has been his anxiety.
In the post the DJ, who was recently voted into 18th place in our Top 100 DJs poll, reveals that he has seen more than twelve therapists and professionals.
“Having Anxiety its really hard to produce music, as it sucks all energy out of you, and leaves you with a huge feeling of unreality and unease.”
This news follows that of Benga, who recently announced via Twitter that he suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
It's refreshing to see this level of openness and honesty, and hopefully more people in the public eye will begin to open up about what is a common problem.
Respect to Nicky.
