No deal Brexit could stop British people accessing Spotify and Netflix in Europe

British people may lose access to their entertainment accounts if no deal is to be reached...

In the event of a no-deal Brexit, British people may be restricted from accessing their usual Spotify and Netflix content while travelling to EU states.

New government documents have outlined their preparations for what would happen in the event of no-deal, with one detailing the shifts in copyright law.

Although this wouldn't mean a complete restriction to these services, Brits abroad would face loss of access to their usual catalogue of entertainment and local library, and it would also affect EU nationals visiting the UK.

Recently, a number of musical figures including Brian Eno, Damon Albarn and Jarvis Cocker signed an open letter by Bob Geldof, arguing that the UK music industry will be worse off after Brexit.

DJ Mag recently published ‘What will Brexit mean for DJs?’, a piece exploring its potential impact upon musicians working in the EU.
