Noel Gallagher has revealed that he’s started work on his next solo album, adding that it will have a “’70s disco” vibe to it.

Speaking at a Q&A at Kings Place in London to launch his new book, Any Road Will Get Us There (If We Don’t Know Where We’re Going), Gallagher said that he hopes to release the album next year and that he’d been working on it at Abbey Road Studios in recent weeks with producer David Holmes.

When asked about the songs he’d already written for the album. he described them as like “‘70s disco” and “the beginning of the world.” The new album will follow on from last year’s Who Built The Moon?

Speaking about the writing process on the album, he said that he’d be looking to friends and popular figures from his childhood for inspiration, adding that “no one’s ever going to make an interesting album about being a rockstar living on Primrose Hill.”
