Orbital share first taster from their new album with 'Copenhagen'

The duo is offering the track as a free download, too...

2017 has seen the return of the one of dance music's most revered live acts Orbital, and today the duo is giving away as a free download the first taster from their next studio album in the form of the heavily road-tested 'Copenhagen'.

‘Copenhagen’ is a new track from the duo who have been testing it in their recent headline shows at Bluedot and Forbidden Fruit to rave reviews.

The new track features a vocal sample from the brilliant Lisa Knapp and is the first release since the duo's much-acclaimed last album, ‘Wonky’, which came out back in 2012.

“I’ve been enjoying playing and developing this track playing it out," explains Phil Hartnoll to DJ Mag. "We thought it would make a great little reunion present to our fans.”

Paul Hartnoll is equally excited about the new track and the album's direction, “It just felt like the right track to try out and we are now ready to release it as a taste of things to come," he explains.

"It felt like an emotional opening with a hopeful feel to start this new chapter of Orbital in these strange and uncertain times. Let's all just chill the fuck out and enjoy the summer!”

Orbital has been recording their new album during breaks from their live schedule at their own studio in Brighton and hope to have the album ready for release by the end of this year or early 2018.

Tickets are on sale now for Orbital’s only two indoor shows in the UK of 2017.
