Planet Mu to release new album from Pennsylvania artist, Nondi_

Planet Mu's next release comes from US artist Nondi_ with the album 'Flood City Trax'. Listen to lead single 'FCD (Floaty Cloud Dream)' below.

Out 7th April, 'Flood City Trax' is HRR collective and label founder Tatiana Triplin's debut on the UK label. The 12-track album explores Nondi_'s interpretation of footwork, breakcore and Detroit techno, according to the label. It's thematically influenced by her home of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, which she describes as "a very poor isolated small factory town in Western Pennsylvania which has a dark history of deadly floods".

"'Flood City Trax' is music that captures the mood of living in a town like Johnstown, and more broadly the isolation of poverty," Nondi_ said about the album. "That's the environment these tracks came out of, after all... Johnstown has never moved past its floods, hence the nickname 'Flood City'. There's very little to do and every year the town shrinks more, and more buildings are knocked down or condemned. Everything is old but simultaneously the past seems like it has just disappeared."

So far this year, Nondi_, FKA Yakui, has already released two EPs via HRR, 'Seefall' and 'footwork radicals'.

In 2022, Planet Mu released music by the likes of Jana Rush, Bogdan Raczynski, Gábor Lázár and more. Also coming up on the label are LPs by Meemo Comma and DJ Girl
