Police and family appeal for whereabouts of man reported missing from Shambala music festival

Northamptonshire Police are appealing for information surrounding the whereabouts of a 27-year-old man from Bromley, London, who has been reported missing after attending Shambala music festival last weekend.

Gboyega Odubanjo was last seen in the Kelmarsh area of Northamptonshire at around 4am on Saturday 26th August 2023, having attended Shambala with friends. A talented poet and Roundhouse Resident Artist, he was scheduled to perform his poems at the festival the following day (Sunday), friends told the Northampton Chronicle.

In an appeal shared by Northamptonshire Police, Gboyega is described as being “5ft 6in, with short black dreadlocks and a full-face beard.” He also wears glasses and was last seen wearing a “beige/cream bucket hat, a red and white striped gilet with black clothing underneath, black trousers and dark coloured shoes.”

“Come home my darling friend. I love you,” Tice Cin, a friend of Gboyega who also attended Shambala, wrote on X, formerly Twitter, before adding that the two “were only just dancing together at my dj set.” She also shared additional photos of Gboyega which can be seen here.

Shambala Festival have shared details of Gboyega’s disappearance via their official social media streams, asking festival goers to “please come forward with any information you have - contact the police by following their instructions in their post.” Bad Betty Press, who published Gboyega’s debut poetry pamphlet, WHILE I YET LIVE, in 2019 has also shared the appeal.
