Powder locked for Beats In Space mix CD, shares track ‘New Tribe’: Watch

Beats In Space is launching its new CD series with a mix from Japanese DJ/producer, Powder.

Tim Sweeney’s revered label/radio show will kick of its ‘...In Space’ CD strand on 15th February as Powder delivers a 74-minute mix of vibrant deep house, electrifying vintage tech house and lush new age ambience.

The new series is described as an exploration of “dance music’s form and informality” and will feature mixes from DJs who have previously featured on the Beats In Space Radio Show as well as new contributors.

Powder, whose previous shows for BIS have been sensational, features the likes of Tornado Wallace, Lord Of The Isles, Acid Pauli and Don’t DJ in her ‘...In Space’ mix. The compilation – which will include both a continuous mix and the individual tracks – also features four exclusive tracks. The mix opens with an unreleased cut from Samo DJ and Hidden Operator, ‘ Захват Сзади Rox.’, while Daphne’s previously vinyl-only track, ‘When You Love Someone (Groove Instrumental)’, also features.

‘Powder In Space’ also features two original cuts from the Tokyo-based artist herself, ‘New Tribe’ and ‘Gift’. 

Below, you can watch the video for ‘New Tribe’. Working with Tokyo animation studio AC bu, the video tells the story of Powder – real name Momoko ‘Moko’ Goto – and her journey from working 9-5 in an office in Tokyo to becoming an internationally respected DJ.
